Fight Gender Inequality with Eye2Eye
Who are we?
Eye2Eye is a service organization founded by students at Boston University in the spring of 2016. As students, we’ve been fortunate enough to be involved in many organizations within our school, multiple workplaces, and our local communities. However, within each of these areas, members of our team have also experienced gender inequality firsthand. These experiences, coupled with the tremendous amounts of research conducted by organizations like the ITUC, inspired us to become a part of the fight. To begin this journey, Eye2Eye has two main goals:
- Hold a national conference uniting professionals from various industries and organizations to talk about gender inequality and the best ways to combat it.
- Conduct proprietary research at Boston University to share at our national conference and expand to other universities, becoming the nation’s leading collegiate gender inequality research platform.
For more information on who we are, updates on our research, and how you can get involved, visit: www.buakpsi.com/eye2eye.
What is our mission?
To promote the issue of, to foster research in, and to educate the public on gender inequality in the collegiate community and professional world.
Where are we?
While we’re currently headquartered in the state of Massachusetts, our reach has already grown to cover a vast part of the country. Our fundraising and operations teams have already identified and started work with schools, donors, and conference speakers in states including New York, California, and Pennsylvania (shown in purple). However, we’re not stopping there. Over the next few months, we're hoping to expand our network and add states like Illinois, Washing- ton, and Connecticut to our movement (shown in pink).
What exactly is the problem?
Gender inequality spans many different fields and appears in many different forms. We’ve chosen to focus on the following four categories, as identified by over 500 respondents by the 3% Conference in The 3% Movement's "Elephant on Madison Avenue” survey:

While each of these problems may affect women in different ways, extensive research has proven their existence and impact. According to public information collected by the International Trade Union Confederation, “the global gender pay gap ranges from 3% to 51% with a global average of 17%.” Faith Popcorn, CEO of marketing consulting firm BraintReserve , furthers the argument that this gap is unjust by noting, "a study by Catalyst found that Fortune 500 companies with the most female directors outperformed those with few, or none. And those with at least three women at the boardroom table dramatically outperformed the rest! And the numbers were huge: 42% greater return on sales; 66% greater return on invested capital, and 53% greater return on equity."
