It's been two months since ISC16. Thank you again so much for an amazing experience at the International Student Cluster Competition. Hope you all had a great summer!
The 2016 - 2017 school year is about to begin, and we're excited for what's to come!
The BUHPC shirts have finally arrived. Sorry for the long wait! We cycled through a couple more iterations before creating a final version of the BUHPC terrier pocket logo.
We wanted the placement of the pocket logo to be at just the right place! We kept on making nitty gritty fixes. We are unbelievably exhilarated by how nice the shirts came out.
We will be shipping these shirts to the backers who wanted them ASAP!
Be sure to stay in touch with us on Twitter (@buhpc) or our personal website, http://buhpc.com.

We wanted to thank everyone for helping us go to Frankfurt, Germany to compete in this year's ISC16 student cluster competition. The competition ended on Wednesday, June 22, 2016.
The team competed valiantly, put our hearts into the work, but unfortunately, we did not win the top 3. Our big achievements in the competition include our open source implementation of Graph500 and making the applications work with ARMv8 architecture. Most of us came back to the US from Germany today on Friday, June 24, 2016.

Many attendees and a bunch of New Englanders came by our booth, talked to us, and were interested in our innovative computer architecture! A 768 ARMv8 core cluster accelerated by 8 NVIDIA Jetson TX1s with 4 ARMv8 cores and 256 Maxwell cores per board.
We couldn't have competed at ISC16 without you. Your generous donations allowed us to travel and compete in Frankfurt, Germany, which is an experience that we cannot even begin to thank you enough for!
We landed in Frankfurt, Germany last Thursday, June 16. Today, June 20, the ISC16 Student Cluster Competition kicked off! We've been working hard with our energy efficient ARMv8 architecture with Cavium Thunder X CPUs. Living up to our Boston Green Team name, we're focusing on the best energy efficient performance per watt!
ISC16 has a Most Popular Team voting contest! Please help us out with this contest because we can win the Most Popular Team prize. Visit http://vote.buhpc.com and vote for Boston Green Team! Every vote counts, so we're hoping that you'll send in that quick vote before it ends on Wednesday, June 22, 12 PM EST! We'll keep you updated on Twitter.
In the meanwhile, we'll be working earnestly to maximize performance for the scientific applications, Splotch, WRF, and Graph500. We ran the benchmarks, HPCC and HPL benchmarks, on our cluster today. It's been an amazing experience thus far, and thank you again for helping make this happen!
With all of your support, we reached beyond our goal of $7,000, getting 109% of our target. We are incredibly moved by all of your generosity, and we're very grateful for all the love and help we've received.
Thank you so much to everyone who was able to donate! Tomorrow, June 16, is the day we fly out to Frankfurt, Germany as the Boston Green Team! We'll make you proud!
Living up to our Boston Green Team name, we are using an energy-efficient ARMv8 cluster provided by our hardware sponsor, E4 Computer Engineering. More information in the video.
To keep up to date on our updates at the ISC16 Student Cluster Competition, follow us on Twitter. We'll update on what's going on and how we're doing! Setting up the super computer begins on 8:00 AM on Saturday, June 18. #GoTerriers #hpcmatters
Hi Backers,
Recently BUHPC travelled to Wuhan, China to compete in the Asian Student Cluster (ASC) competition. ASC, much like ISC is a competition that brings together the best undergrads from around the world and pits them against each other in a 5 day, intense competition. Teams run benchmarks and scientific applications and then are scored on the runtime of the scientific applications and the performance of the benchmarks in FLOPS.
Out of 175 teams that applied, BUHPC was the only American team to qualify, beating out Purdue, Rice and other top American universities. The 16 final teams represented the best super computing talent from 5 continents.
BUHPC did well at the competition, we beat all of our scores from last year. Most importantly we learned a lot from the competition and we're prepared to do well at ISC.
Your support is what allows us compete at the international level. We need your help!
Share this project with your friends, family, colleagues, and even your dog!
